Later collaborated with Van Morrison, Prince, Dave Stewart. Her debut album Saxuality '91 on BMG sold a million worldwide, nom. for a Grammy; followup Sax-a-go-go '93 stuck to the hard-edged, soft-centred funk formula. She works in the time-honoured jump-band tradition of Louis Jordan but needs to let her hair down, especially on the air-brushed recordings.
