Recorded for Sims label '61-2; best-known songs "Eli's Blue' and "My Past Is My Future'. Wrote "Wings Of A Dove' (no. 1 for Ferlin Husky '60), "Natividad' (George Hamilton IV), "Taos, New Mexico' (Waylon Jennings), "Carroll County Accident' (Porter Wagoner); prod. for Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Wagoner, Hamilton, many others '65-75. With Jesse Burt co-authored So You Want To Be In Music; retired from music, became preacher.
