(b Rebecca Ann Hobbs, 24 Jan. '50, Bartlesville OK) Country singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (piano, accordion, guitar etc), dynamic stage act never captured on record. Played piano at nine, performing in folk duo (with Beth Morrison) at 14. Formed all-girl band Four Faces Of Eve, then Sir Prize Package, followed by Swampfox. By this time she was in Los Angeles '74 playing country music; made album Becky Hobbs for MCA; Helen Reddy picked up songs incl. "Long Distance Love'. Recorded for independent Tattoo label, then Mercury, incl. hit "I Can't Say Goodbye To You' '79. Next few years saw her providing hits for such acts as Lacy J. Dalton, John Anderson etc; duet hit "Let's Get Over Them Together' '83 with Moe Bandy; signed to Liberty with minor hits; had more success as a writer with hits for Conway Twitty, George Jones etc. Joined MTM Records '88 and scored with self-penned "Jones On The Jukebox'; then to Curb '90 followed by small label deals.
