(b Eleanor Johnstone, Peoria IL) Country singer. Sang in her teens in local clubs; married Lee Stoller '59 and raised children. Urged on by her husband, she took up music when the children were older; worked in clubs, state fairs, radio; he formed LS label in Madison TN and she eventually made country charts with "Tryin' To Forget About You' and "Let Me Down Easy' '77. Named best new female artist by ACM '78; signed with UA '79; made breakthrough with TV-advertised inspirational album One Day At A Time '82 (title track was '81 hit). Albums incl.
