(b 20 Jan. '65, Danville KY) Country singer whose debut album was a hit. Started singing with his parents' country band as a child; joined local bands in his teens; landed regular gig at Austin City Saloon, Lexington that lasted for six years; signed to Atlantic: Life's A Dance '91 was mainly hard country with no. 1 country single 'I Love The Way You Love Me', then he broke wider with 'I Swear' from second album, covered by soul band All-4-One who took it to the pop chart. Meanwhile he had further no. ones 'Be My Baby Tonight', 'If You've Got Love', 'I Can Love You Like That' (also covered by All-4-One), 'Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)'.
