Indian film music director, one of the most successful in the Golden Age of Indian film music '48–'60. Among his Hindi language films were Aar Paar (featuring playback singers Shamshad Begum, Geeta Dutt and Mohd. Rafi), Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon and Kashmir Ki Kali (both featuring Asha Bhosle and Mohd. Rafi in solo and duet combinations) and Khoon Ka Badla Khoon (featuring Vani Jairam, Pushpa Pagdhare, Uttara Kelkar and a token Mohd. Rafi duet with Vani Jairam).
