Worked as background vocalist in Memphis and Nashville '64-6; Chips Moman singled her out for solo career; signed to MGM and hit with first two singles, teen-ballads "Single Girl' and "Born A Woman' in pop top 20 '66; continued with more pop hits "What A Woman In Love Won't Do', "I Take It Back'; returned to session work '68, went to Columbia '70 and started charting country: "Bring Him Home Safely To Me' top 20 '71; then moved through Monument, Warners, Audiograph, scoring minor hits for each '73-83; continued to work as in-demand Nashville session singer; married Elvis-impersonator Wade Cummins and tours as part of the Elvis Wade and the Jordanaires featuring Sandy Posey show; has also made an impression on the American Christian music scene.
