SINATRA, Frank Jr

(b Franklin Wayne Emmanuel Sinatra, 10 Jan. '44, Jersey City NJ) Became cabaret singer after his father's style and was doing well with many fans when he was kidnapped Dec. '63 for ransom; money was paid and kidnappers caught. At the trial the defence suggested it had all been a publicity stunt: the media loved it; Frank Sr said 'This family needs publicity like it needs peritonitis.' The jury wasn't fooled and sent three men to prison, but Frank Jr's career never recovered. In the '80s he became a tour conductor for his father.
