TOMORROW

UK psychedelic group: vocalist Keith West, bassist John "Junior' Wood, guitarist Steve Howe all played in the In Crowd (minor UK hit '65 with "That's How Strong My Love Is'), became Tomorrow adding drummer Twink (John Alder; ex-Fairies). Strong stage act confirmed promise with single "My White Bicycle', (prod. by Pete Townshend; revived by Nazareth); eponymous LP '68 (reissued on Decal/Charly UK '86) incl. cover of "Strawberry Fields Forever', quirky "Real Life Permanent Dream', "Aunti Mary's Dress Shop'. Producer/keyboardist Mark Wirtz encouraged West to record "An Excerpt From A Teenage Opera', no. 2 '67; group was then billed as "featuring Keith West' though their psychedelic rock was a long way from the poppish single. West's solo follow-up "Sam' made top 40, group's cover of Beatles' "Revolution' did not; they split '68. Twink joined Pretty Things; Howe formed Bodast, made it big with Yes; Wood was briefly with Jeff Beck, West went into production, came back with Howe's ex-Bodast bassist Bruce Thomas, drummer Chico Greenwood and ex-Family, ex-Animals guitarist John Weider in short-lived popsters Moonrider (LP '75).
