THOMAS, Joe (R&B singer-songwriter)

(b Joseph Louis Thomas, 5 July 1970, Columbus GA) Singer, songwriter, record producer. He was heard on Mariah Carey's no. 1 hit 'Thank God I Found You'. His albums have included Everything '93 on Polygram; All That I Am (single 'Don't Wanna Be A Player' went Top 40),  My Name Is Joe (no. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums), Better Days, And Then..., Ain't Nothin' Like Me (1997-2007, all on Jive), and almost one a year since on Kedar, Massenburg or Plaid Takeover labels. He can do smooth or sultry; his production work for other people and the inclusion of his songs in film soundtracks have made him a player whether he likes it or not. Most of his albums have ranked high in the R&B chart.
