'73 in car crash) Singing in the Ewe language, thereby reaching audiences in Togo, Ghana and Benin, released many singles in highlife, agbadza, Congo and trad. styles; biggest hit was "Rockia'. Made several successful African tours, also appeared in USA, Germany, France, Belgium; only LP Album Souvenir '71 incl. help from Manu Dibango, with whom she'd worked in Paris: became a classic. Career tragically cut short, but still regarded as one of Africa's finest female vocalists.
