His romantic tone can be heard in a live group context on Bremen Concert and Live: Volume 2 '87, both on West Wind, and in duets with pianists Django Bates, Keith Tippett and Joachim Kuhn on Passion And Possession '91 on ITM. His group Flugelhorn 4 + 3 (or the Flugel Four, featuring four leading UK practitioners) made the highly regarded All Four One '92 on Spotlite. Compared 2 What? '95 on Basic was a quintet with Annie Whitehead on trombone and John Burgess on reeds, the CD labelled 'acid jazz', which is nonsense. |
