With Red Nichols, Lennie Hayton, others late '30s, Sammy Kaye '42, rejoined Kaye '46; many hits with Kaye included 'It Isn't Fair' '50 on RCA; went solo on that label; switched to Coral, had more hits: 'I'll Walk Alone' and 'I'm Yours' top ten '52; 'Heart Of My Heart' (top 20 '53) was a charming street-corner effort with Johnny Desmond, Alan Dale (b Aldo Sigiamundi, 9 July '25, Brooklyn); 'Hold My Hand' from film Susan Slept Here (no. 5 '54), two-sided hits 'Most Of All'/'The Door Is Still Open To My Heart', 'The Bible Tells Me So'/'Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing' '55, six more top 100 entries to '57. Nice baritone went out of chart fashion, but clubwork continued.
