CLARK, Yodeling Slim

(b Raymond Le Roy, 11 December 1917, Springfield MA; d 5 July 2000, St Albans ME) Singer and yodeler in traditional country music. He worked as a woodsman before taking up professional music; recorded for small labels 1946-70 including Continental, Wheeling, Palace, Palomino. Named World's Champion Yodeller in 1947. According to obits his best-known performances included 'The Strawberry Roan', 'The Cat Comes Back' and 'When You're Blue, Just Yodel'.
