COLLINS, Brian

(b 19 Oct. '50, Baltimore MD) Pop-country singer popular '70s. Raised in the oil town of Texas City TX, playing in local bands from age 11; formed the Nomads while in high school. Disovered by Dolly Parton '69 and moved to Nashville; signed to Mega Records '71 and had minor hits, joined Dot (later ABC/Dot) and broke into top 10 with "Statue Of A Fool' '74. Further hits on RCA '78, Primero '80; continues to tour but no major label deal since mid '80s. Albums were Brian Collins '74, That's The Way Love Should Be '75.
