KELLY, Sandy

Irish country-MOR singer who made an impact portraying Patsy Cline, initially in her one-woman show, then in Patsy Cline - The Musical. Born in County Sligo, grew up in showbusiness family, appeared in Eurovision Song Contest singing pop, turned to country '85 with her own seven-piece band; scored Irish hit with her revival of 'Crazy' '89; recorded in Nashville with such stars as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, etc; toured with George Hamilton IV in the musical '93-6; hosted her own Sandy Kelly Show on RTE TV since '90.
