CASCADES, The

USA vocal group from San Diego (John Gummoe, Eddie Snyder, Dave Wilson, Dave Stevens, Dave Zabo) with a clean-cut sound reminiscent of the Rooftop Singers, one-hit wonders whose hit will not soon be forgotten: Gummoe's comp. "Rhythm Of The Rain' was a transatlantic top 5 early '63, almost the last flourish of pop crooning before the Beatles took over, playing on the teen-age heartbreak syndrome. Other minor hits: "The Last Leaf', "Maybe The Rain Will Fall'.
