Billed as The Boy From Alabama, with relaxed, down-home style comedy, picking, singing. Gave comic advice in "Doctor Lew' routine; performed American standards like "Alabamy Bound'. album Old Time Get Together With Lew Childre '58 on Starday; radio compilations issued on Old Homestead '80.
