Donald's Blog

This old house was only a few blocks from the state Capitol in Madison, Wisconsin. All the neighborhood cats lived in the basement during the winter. The house has long since been torn down, but in 1972 there were AR2ax speakers in the front room, and a lot of good music was heard there.

Louis Costanzo

Louis CostanzoIt was two years ago today we lost my old pal Louis, from Miss Jeffrey's home room at McKinley Junior High. This week it's too hot to do anything around here except play with my music in the basement, uploading this and downloading that, dubbing old LPs and fooling around with ClickRepair, and I am reminded constantly of dear Louis and the records we used to swap when we were kids. Somewhere there is probably still a 45 EP of Mantovani playing Strauss waltzes that we used to stick each other with. Lots of laughter and good cheer, and he still holds me up. Every day we send our love to the beautiful Barbara and her daughters.

D-Day 2012

D-Day 2012

Here is SPC David Clarke in France last month for the D-Day commemorations. He spent an afternoon interpreting for Lt. General Mark P. Hertling, Commander of American Forces in Europe. We are glad we sent him to the prep school Taverham Hall in Norfolk, where his first French teacher was Madame Dalton (mother of the rascal Pascal!), succeeded by the wonderful Mr Bromley-Martin. And his French teacher at the Norwich School was also very good. They would all be proud of him, as are his mom and dad!
